Russian-born pianist Oksana Poleshook has a dynamic and diverse musical background. She started her musical training at the age of 7 in Khabarovsk, Russia. Her debut performance came at the young age of 17 with the Dalniy Vostok Symphony Orchestra performing the Saint-Saens 2nd Piano Concerto.

A passionate and avid collaborator, Oksana is actively engaged in the fields of chamber music and vocal accompanying. Performing internationally, her most recent music appearances include the USA, UK, Italy, Russia, and Austria. Some of her professional engagements and collaborations include the Garth Newel Chamber Music Festival, VA, Chautauqua Arts Festival, NY, the Double Reed Festival TN, Ballet Memphis and Opera Memphis. She has been a guest artist at the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of Middle Tennessee and Khabarovsk College of Arts.

In 2009 she was featured as a recording artist on the critically-acclaimed CD “Chamber Wind Music of Jack Cooper” released by Centaur Records. Her writings on music include “Russian Musical Influences of The Five on Works of Debussy” and “Language: Key to Musical Style.”

Oksana received her BM degree in Piano Performance, Music History and Theory from Khabarovsk College of Arts (Russia) and earned an MM degree in Piano Performance from Glinka State Conservatory in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia). She also holds MM and DMA degrees in Piano Performance from the University of Memphis.

Oksana presently lives and works in both Berlin, Germany and the United States.

Projects

Duo Novelettes

Oksana’s current musical project Duo Novelettes is with the German violinist Rahel Maria Rilling. Their theme-oriented music programs are based on promoting classical and contemporary new music. A recent program of Spanish-American music has had numerous presentations to include performance series across Northern Germany. Oksana is a featured artist on a forthcoming CD-release with Rahel Rilling produced by Skydeck Music (New Zealand).
